Balmorhea Wedding Day: Kevin + Erin

I feel like the dust of my busy spring/summer season has finally settled and now I've got a month or so to revisit a few of the weddings that I didn't get time to blog.  This particular wedding was the first of a run of 10 or so weddings in a row so blogging it just got left undone.  I really want to share the images with you though because it was a gorgeous day...well it was really rainy but everything turned out perfectly anyways.

Kevin and Erin tied the knot at Balmorhea on the first Saturday of March.  They had planned to use the arch that Kevin made for an outside ceremony but the weather had other plans.  Rachel with Wed & Prosper had to get creative to make the arch work inside, but her and Felicia totally pulled it off!  Urban Rubbish did a fantastic job with the florals and everything turned out beautifully.  We were able to get some outside photos before the rain started and then took more on the back porch when it started to sprinkle on us!  That's one thing I love about Balmorhea is that even if it does rain, you can still snap a few photos outside on either side of their reception hall, they have great overhangs and porches.  I'm so glad these two opted for a first look or they wouldn't have had any outdoor photos, it was so stormy that it was pretty much dark outside during their ceremony!  Things don't always go as planned on wedding day, but that's why you hire a planner who has it all under control.  Hope you guys enjoy these images!

Houston Engagement Session: Eric + Sarah

Hey guys!  Happy Tuesday!  I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and getting a lot of time in the water - it's the only way to do summer in Houston, right?!  I typically don't shoot engagements or bridals in the summer months, for obvious reasons .. your face melts off in half a second when you step outside :D However, sometimes there isn't anyway around it, especially when the couple is getting married in just a few short months!

Eric and Sarah braved the summer heat with me and did so well.  Sarah warned me that they were not photogenic, but I most definitely disagree!  Sarah chose the Menil Collection for their location because that's where Eric proposed and I loved that idea.  Everything is so green in the summer and midtown has such pretty, mature trees.  These two are tying the knot at their backyard wedding in November and I cannot wait!  Hope ya'll enjoy these images.

Balmorhea Day After Session: Daniel + Shannon

Hey guys!  Happy Friday!  I hope you all have had a fabulous week, mine has been busy with lots of shooting, editing, and getting stuff in the mail!  It's my favorite to see prints shipped, my heart just loves a printed photo .. so print your photos, please don't let them live on your computer or your phone, they are meant to be on your walls!!!  Ok ok, I'll step off my soapbox now :)

Daniel and Shannon booked me pretty close to their wedding because they had a short engagement but Shannon knew she wanted bridals.  So she decided to take them after the wedding and have a few shots with her hubby in them and I LOVE that idea.  Day after sessions (not literally the day after, just after the wedding sometime) are so relaxed and fun because you don't have to worry about the dress (it's already dirty from your wedding day) and I get to reminisce with my clients about how fabulous their wedding was.  Also, what bride wouldn't want a chance to get back in her dress?! Am I right!?  I typically recommend this session for any of my couples' who do not want to do a first look and it might be dark or close to dark by the time their ceremony ends (think winter weddings).  It's also nice to utilize your bridals as an extra session for the two of you.  So without further ado, check out these images!
